Ken Bruen’s PURGATORY
This is the tenth Jack Taylor novel and Jack is off the drink again following the events of Headstone. But not for long. A killer calling themselves C33 is sending Jack letters before they commit a murder except Jack won’t play because the victims are some of Galway’s worst criminals. Meanwhile a rich American businessman has moved to town and is buying up most of Galway dirt cheap thanks to the economic downturn and he has earmarked Jack for some dirty work. Which of course isn’t going to work out for anybody
The Jack Taylor series has ebbed flowed but is definitely back to the greatness of the early novels in the series. The early books have been turned into a TV series and I highly recommend you stay completely away from it. The TV series Jack bares no resemblance to the Jack Taylor of the books and it is a travesty to Ken Bruen what they have put on the screen. As always stick to the books and you will never be disappointed.
